George Yeonas is the Executive Vice President -Chief Operating Officer, Homebuilding Operations of TOUSA, Inc. Mr. Yeonas brings more than 28 years of experience in construction, real estate and homebuilding to our operations.
Throughout his distinguished career, Mr. Yeonas has held numerous executive positions in the homebuilding industry. Prior to joining TOUSA, he was the President and operating partner of Rocky Gorge Communities in McLean, VA, a boutique homebuilding and land development company, where he was responsible for running the day-to-day operations.
Previously, Mr. Yeonas served as President and Chief Executive Officer of The Fortress Group, a national, publicly-traded homebuilding company, also in McLean, VA that was later merged with Lennar Corp. During his tenure with The Fortress Group, Mr. Yeonas transformed the company from twelve autonomous companies with disparate philosophies, systems, and financial results, into an integrated operating organization. In 1999, the company was the 22nd largest homebuilding in the country, with revenues over $750 million.
Prior to The Fortress Group, Mr. Yeonas was President of the South Florida Division for Arvida, one of the nation’s leading community development firms, where he was responsible for more than 80% of the company’s assets. He has also served as Vice President of Development for NVR in Washington, D.C., Divisional Partner for Trammell Crow in Tampa, Florida, and has been engaged in numerous consulting assignments involving distressed property restructuring and disposition of institutional real estate loan portfolios.
Mr. Yeonas received his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Management from Georgetown University and holds an MBA in finance from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
